Whilst the Santiago Bernabeu may beckon next season, Mbappe and PSG are edging closer to their latest Ligue 1 title.

And they further extended their lead at the top of the table to 13 points with a 4-1 win away at Lorient, with the Frenchman showcasing his skill.

Ousmane Dembele gave PSG the lead in the 19th minute and Mbappe doubled their advantage soon after with an audacious finish.

Left-back Nuno Mendes saw his simple low cross towards the six-yard box find the onrushing 25-year-old who was on hand to score.

Replays show that the ball flicked off the side of his left boot and went behind him before bouncing into the bottom-right corner.

Mbappe picked up his second contribution of the game in the 60th minute when he assisted Dembele in true style.

He picked up the ball towards the corner, switched it with his left and right feet in close proximity and nutmegged Nathaniel Adjei.

The forward then darted into the area and played a cross towards the back post, where Dembele was on hand to tap in for his second.

He now sits on 43 goals in as many games across all competitions this season, with his assist for Dembele his tenth of the campaign.

Overall at PSG, he has struck 255 times over 302 games for the club and amassed a further 109 assists to cement his world-class status.

Mbappe's latest efforts have helped Luis Enrique's side to go 14 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with four games left to play, although they will win the league if Monaco fail to beat Lille on Wednesday.

Should this happen, he would claim his sixth league title with the club before he is set to complete his move to European giants Madrid.
