Arsenal got back to winning ways last weekend after a demoralising week prior which saw them lose their place at the top of the Premier League table with a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa, prior to their Champions League quarter final exit to Bayern Munich.

Mikel Arteta's side managed to put their demons behind them on the weekend though with a 2-0 win at Wolves, which has taken them back to the top of the Premier League table ahead of their match with Chelsea tonight, though Manchester City do sit just a point behind with a game in hand.

The Gunners will be looking forward to being back in front of their home fans despite being winless in their last two games at the Emirates, as they have the chance to open up a three point gap at the top of standings, for 24 hours at least.

In contrast, Chelsea's eight match unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday evening as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to defending champions Manchester City in the semi final of the FA Cup.

Mauricio Pochettino's side can now turn their attentions back to the league, in which also have an eight match unbeaten run, with four wins in that run, the most recent of which being a 6-0 thrashing over Everton.

The weekend's league results mean the Blues have dropped down to ninth in the Premier League table, but remain only three points off the top six, with a game in hand whilst also holding a far superior goal difference to that of seventh-placed Manchester United.

The exit of both Chelsea and Coventry in the FA Cup last week means that seventh-placed is now all but confirmed to be the final European qualification spot in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea head into tonight's London derby having won only one of their last nine matches against Arsenal, including three defeats in their last four.
