Aaron Collins scored a stoppage-time winner as struggling Morecambe beat Oldham 2-1.

The Shrimps took the lead in the fourth minute when Jordan Cranston slotted in before Jose Baxter levelled for Paul Scholes' side in the 76th minute.

However, Morecambe claimed a last-gasp win thanks to Collins after he was played in by Liam Mandeville.

Jamille Matt scored a first-half double as Newport bounced back from their FA Cup defeat by Manchester City to beat Notts County 4-1 at Meadow Lane.

Fraser Franks fired in from close range in the ninth minute to open the scoring before the hosts levelled thanks to Kane Hemmings moments later.

Matt headed Newport back ahead in the 15th minute then gave them a two-goal cushion with a bicycle kick in the 33rd minute from inside the six-yard box. Padraig Amond continued his goal-scoring form as he added the visitors' fourth two minutes into the second half.

Cheltenham climbed further away from the bottom three with a 2-0 win over 10-man Cambridge at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

Ben Tozer was awarded the opening goal after the ball was forced home from inside the six-yard box before Conor Thomas scored the second from a penalty awarded when Jake Carroll handled on the line and was sent off.

In the other match, Tranmere won 2-1 at Port Vale thanks to a goal in each half for the division's top scorer James Norwood, with Ben Whitfield on target for the hosts.
